Quarter 2 Goals (2019)

With April come and gone, plus my anticipated release of Avengers: Endgame (watch review soon), I now have a bit more time to read. Instead of monthly reading goals (I prefer giving myself a bit of wiggle room since school starts this June), I plan on doing quarterly goals. Below is a list of reading goals (hopefully able to review most), plus some miscellaneous video ideas I have, & my writing goals.

Reading Goals
International Player by Louise Bay (ARC review pending)
The Saviors Series #1: The Saviors Champion by Jenna Moreci (re-reading so can FINALLY post my review)
Shadowhunter Chronicles: Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices #2) by Cassandra Clare (debating on this title)
Riftwar Cycle #1: Magician's: Apprentice (Riftwar Saga #1) by Raymond E Feist (re-read for review, plan on entire series review/discussion for a The Talk video)
Tortall Universe #1: Terrier (Beka Cooper #1) by Tamora Pierce *review planned (book/entire series - The Talk video)

Writing Goals *most writing posted HERE
Emily Nelson #1: The Linguist - chapters 7-10 ish (Marvel Fanfiction)
Bring Me Home - prologue, chapters 1+ (Once Upon a Time Fanfiction: one-shot)
Ancestry Universe #1: Awakening (Deities Saga #1) * will not be posting, plan on selling full novel. Will be seeking beta readers end of year, pending

Film / TV Series Reviews
Avengers 4: Endgame (pending)
Captain America 1-3 (pending)
Dumplin
Shadowhunters: 3B Review (will do book vs movie/tv sometime this year)

*whatever ones I don't finish will discuss at end of next quarters post. Some may carry over, others not so much. I will try to stay accountable more often with my blog instead of making a video every quarter. I might still make monthly videos on just the reading bit, only if I have other things to discuss as well. Check out my channel for tons of content.

Marvel-Athon Update

Due to scheduling, I will only be posting the 3 Captain America reviews & Avengers 4: Endgame once I have seen it. There will be no more Marvel reviews for this month. I apologize for the change. I just don't have enough hours in the day. Kyleen McHenry, Ky's Korner

Thor 3: Ragnarok | Movie Review

Out of all my MCU reviews I have done so far, Thor: Ragarok is probably the one I talked most about in my video.  I did an entire character development for both Thor & Loki, mostly Loki.  To find out my thoughts on these two, click on the image below to watch the video.

Thor 2: The Dark World | Movie Review

Marvel-aton continues with my YouTube review of Thor: The Dark World.  What was inside Jane Foster?  Why did Loki decide to help his brother and Jane?  Where is the stone put after being removed?  Find out in the video below.

Thor | Movie Review

Thor has my favorite character in the entirety of the MCU, and that is Loki.  I will be doing an entire post, and YouTube video, on him for my "The Talk" segment later this year (hopefully this summer).  Watch my in-depth review, just click on the image below.

Being labelled a player never stopped me from being successful with women. Until I met Truly Harbury.

Truly was the first girl who ever turned me down.

The first female friend I ever had.

And she might just be the first woman I ever fall in love with.

When an emergency means she needs my help running her family’s charity, I’m happy to introduce her to the glitz and glamour of the London business world—taking her to dinners, coaching her through speeches, zipping up the sexy evening gown I helped her pick out.

The more time we spend together, the more I want to convince her I’m not a man to avoid, that we’re not as unsuited as she believes

Ant-Man | Movie Review

Scott Lang makes his debut in the movie Ant-Man.  I have mixed feelings about this movie, but most tend to be on the not-so-good side.  SPOILER WARNING!

Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Michael Douglas (Dr. Hank Pym), Evangeline Lily (Hope Van Dyne), and Corey Stoll (Darren Cross/Yellowjacket).  It was released in 2015.

Synopsis:
Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Review:
First off, let me state that I did not hate this movie.  Far from it, actually.  My biggest problem is, that as an origin story for a character in a greater universe, it fell short.  If this was a stand-alone film, not linked to a huger project, I would be more okay with it.  With such great Marvel movies out there before this one came about (Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers, Captain America, and so on), his origin story just wasn't as compelling as I would have liked it to be.
I found Michael Pena character more likeable than Scott's.  I did like the scene pictured above (mostly the train falling down bit), and a few others.  The problem is, out of all the Marvel movies and shows I have watched, this one doesn't stand out.  I could recall nearly all the events on Thor, Iron Man (first one), and The Avengers (all out so far).  I watched this movie, probably four times already, and very few points were remembered.  Only three scenes in the movie stood out.  The first is the one above, the second is the time when Luis told the story and showed Falcon, etc.  The last is pictured below, during Cassie's birthday party (played by Abby Ryder Forston).
It wasn't a bad movie, just not the quality I was hoping for with a Marvel Studios production.

*side note: this review replaced my Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 1, Part 2 (due to scheduling conflicts all the TV series reviews will either be replaced with movie ones, or gone altogether for April's Marvel-Athon).

Iron Man 3 | Movie Review

The Iron Man franchise is the first to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Robert Downey Jr. has played Tony Stark amazingly.  Watch the review to find out my biggest criticism of the franchise, what I liked about this movie, & what I think about them ending it with the third installment.

Iron Man | Movie Review

The first movie to kickstart off the Marvel Cinematic Universe was Iron Man.  Robert Downey Jr. was so incredibly hilarious.  Without this movie, the MCU as we know it may not have thrived.  Now, years later, we have over 40+ movies and shows that encompass this massive universe.

Agents of S.H.IE.L.D.: Season 1, Episodes 1-7 | TV Series Review

Agents of S.H.I.E.D.is the first series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that split up it's seasons into parts that took place durng other parts of the phases.  This review is the 1st of 3 parts for the first season.
The 1st part consisted of Project Centipede (watch the episodes to find out more), some of the characters backstories, & setting up the theme for the majority of the series.  Clark Gregg is back from the dead (died by Loki in The Avengers movie).  Below is my review of the first part of the season.
